Welcome to a fabulous new recipe that will delight your taste buds! Today we present a vegan version of the Spanish classic Tarta de Santiago. This dessert gets its name from the famous Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route and represents a sweet temptation that you should not miss. It is especially worth mentioning that we have prepared this recipe completely without animal products. So enjoy this heavenly cake, whose light almond note will take you straight to Spain. 🍰 😋
You don't need any special equipment to make this delicious cake. Your everyday kitchen utensils and some attention to detail are quite enough. Just take a look at this Youtube video to get an idea of what our Tarta de Santiago should look like:
Our vegan recipe is designed for a 20 cm diameter baking tray and makes 8 servings. You will need the following ingredients:
First, mix the ground almonds, sugar, flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt in a large bowl. Then finely grate the zest of the orange and lemon and add them to the mixture. Now add the almond milk 😍 and crushed tofu and mix everything until a homogeneous mass.
The dough is ready and ready to bake. Pour it into a greased springform pan and smooth the surface. Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for about 40 minutes. When the surface is nicely browned and a chopstick comes out clean when you insert it into the center of the cake, your Tarta de Santiago is done baking. 🎂
The icing on this cake is literally the powdered sugar. Allow the cake to cool completely before sprinkling a blanket of powdered sugar on top. Cut larger slices for cake fans or smaller ones for those with a sweet tooth who prefer it lighter. 🍰 😊
Besides the unforgettable taste, the vegan Tarta de Santiago also offers health benefits. Almonds are rich in healthy fats, proteins and fiber, which provide cardiovascular benefits. In addition, the cake is dairy and egg free, making it a wonderful option for those with allergies or lactose intolerance. 🍏 😁
Whether for yourself, as a dessert at a dinner party or day, or as a special treat to celebrate, this vegan Tarta de Santiago will always be an excellent choice. No matter the context, this cake will absolutely win you over with its fantastic taste and simplicity! ✅ 🙂
