A hallmark of spring is the arrival of rhubarb. With its sour taste and bright red color, rhubarb is ideal for desserts. One of my favorites is rhubarb crumble. It's easy to prepare and with the right recipe, it's even vegan! Let's make this delicious dish. 😋
The beauty of this dessert is the simplicity of the ingredients. You will need the following:
For the preparation I recommend the following video, which explains the whole process well:
📇 First, cut the rhubarb into small pieces and also remove the outer skin. Then cook it in a pot with about 50g of sugar and a little water for about 10 minutes until the rhubarb is soft.
To create the vegan crumble, simply mix flour, rolled oats, remaining sugar, cinnamon and a pinch of salt in a bowl. Then add the vegan margarine and knead everything with your hands to form a crumbly mixture. Et voilà - the crumble mixture is ready! 😉
Then spread the precooked rhubarb in a baking dish and spread the crumble mixture evenly over it. Now everything goes into the preheated oven at 180 degrees and bakes there for about 25 minutes. When the crumble is golden brown, your rhubarb crumble is ready! 😊
After baking, let the crumble cool a little and then serve it warm with a scoop of vegan vanilla ice cream or a blob of soy yogurt. This is the perfect contrast to the sour note of the rhubarb and rounds off the dessert perfectly. 😋
In addition, it should be noted that rhubarb not only tastes great, but is also very healthy. It contains a lot of vitamin C and K and is rich in potassium. Moreover, in 100g of rhubarb there are only 13 calories - so the rhubarb crumble is perfect even for those of us who are watching their figure! 😁
Now you have an easy, delicious and vegan recipe for Rhubarb Crumble. Try it and enjoy the taste of spring in its sweetest form! 🍓
