Do not worry if you do not have all the spices at home. Just try it and let your creativity run wild! 😉
Before you start shaping the köfte, you first need to cook the green spelt. Put it in a pot with 400 ml of water and let it simmer for about 20 minutes. Then drain it and let it cool down a bit.
While the green spelt is cooking, you can peel and finely chop the onions and garlic. Then saute the onions in a pan with a little oil until translucent. Add the garlic and stew briefly. 👅
The next step is to mix all the ingredients in a bowl. Put the green spelt, onions, garlic, chopped parsley, tomato paste and breadcrumbs in a bowl. Now add the spices: salt, bell pepper, paprika and cumin. Mix all these ingredients until you get a uniform dough.
Now creativity is needed! Shape the dough into small "sausages". Then fry the Köfte in a pan until crispy all around. Voilà, your delicious veganese Köfte recipe is ready to enjoy! 😋
This vegan köfte recipe shows that Turkish cuisine can also do without meat and still tastes delicious. Try it out and see for yourself! 😊
